In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well to ensure that all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Combine the dry flour, salt, and sugar in a stand mixer bowl and fit it with a dough hook. Pour in the ‘proofed’ yeast into the mixer. Mix until the dough forms a ball around the hook. This only takes 5 to 6 minutes.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour; if it is too dry, add a little more water.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a clean, lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let it rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough has doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles and knead it briefly to bring it back to its original size.
Divide the dough into two or three equal portions, depending on the size of the pizzas you want to make. Shape each portion into a ball and let them rest for another 15-20 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 450°F. Roll out each ball of dough into a thin, round shape, using a rolling pin or your hands. You can make the crust as thick or thin as you like, depending on your preference.
Transfer the dough to a lightly greased pizza pan or baking sheet. Add your favorite toppings, such as tomato sauce, cheese, vegetables, and meat.
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
